ESPN Secure More Live Football TV Rights
ESPN has secured TV rights to show football from the German, Russian, Portuguese and Dutch top divisions, alongside the remainder of the US Major League Soccer season.
Coverage from the four leagues for 2009/10 – and the rest of the MLS action up to November – will be shown on the firm’s forthcoming ESPN channel, along with its English Premier League and Scottish Premier League matches.
The station will officially launch on August 3 in standard definition and high definition at 417 and 443 respectively on Sky’s EPG.

Sky Acquire Live FA Community Shield and Women’s FA Cup Final Rights
Sky have acquired live television rights to the FA Community Shield and Women’s FA Cup Final. Sky Sports have agreed a 3 year deal with the FA starting from the beginning of the new season. The FA Community Shield on Sunday 9th August will be broadcast live on Sky Sports 2 and HD2.

First Live SPL 2009 / 2010 TV Games Announced
The first live SPL games on TV have been announced for the 2009 / 2010 season.
Live coverage will begin on Saturday 15th August when Aberdeen take on Celtic on Sky Sports. ESPN’s first live SPL game will take place on Monday 17th August when Dundee United play Hearts.
The first Old Firm game of the season will take place on Rangers take on Celtic at Ibrox on Sunday 4th October live on Sky Sports

ESPN and SKY Acquire SPL TV Rights
ESPN and Sky Sports have acquired the Scottish Premier League TV rights for £65 million over five years. Live coverage will commence at the start of the 2009 / 2010 season, with each broadcaster showing 30 live games a season each.

First Live Premier League Games On TV Announced
The first Live Premier League Games on TV for the 2009/2010 were announced today. Chelsea will kick-off the season at home to Hull City on Saturday 15th August at 12:45 on Sky Sports 1 / HD1.
ESPN’s first live game after acquiring Setanta’s rights will be Arsenal V Everton also on Saturday 15th August at 17:15 on ESPN and ESPN HD.

Live Championship Football On BBC TV
Last week BBC announced their first few matches from their new contract to show 10 live matches a season from the Coca Cola Championship.
BBC’s first live Championship games are as follows
