Setanta Sports agree Record TV Deal for SPL Coverage

Setanta Sports and the Scottish Premier League have announced the largest ever television broadcasting rights deal for Scottish football.
The £125 million contract for live domestic broadcasting rights is the largest ever television deal in Scottish football history and will last for 4 years, commencing from season 2010/11 until 2013/14.
Setanta Sports founder and joint chief executive Mickey O’Rourke comments: “Setanta Sports is delighted to continue its strong association with the Scottish Premier League. This new SPL deal, together with our live coverage of Scotland’s World Cup 2010 Away qualifier matches, continues our commitment to Scottish football and to Scottish sports fans.”
Colin Davidson, Head of UK Production for Setanta Sports comments: “ This is the largest television rights deal in Scottish football history. Setanta is proud to be the home of Scottish football. This deal establishes Setanta as the longest running television partner of the SPL having extended the deal up to a total of ten years.
When you consider 60 Scottish Premier League matches with Scotland’s forthcoming crucial World Cup away qualifiers, Setanta is a great package for all Scottish football fans. When you add to this all the excellent golf, European football, boxing and English Premier League coverage, it is clear that Setanta is a must have for all sports fans in Scotland
